Supporting Churches to Grow Their Own Youth Work

This summer it’s been great to see holiday clubs happening at both Elim and St Saviour’s, with 48 young people joining over six days and more than 20 volunteers serving across the two churches. This has included several young people. Each church brought its own creativity, personality and style to the community it serves. St Saviours looked at the story of Joseph, whilst Elim encouraged children to think about how God might use them to serve others.

This year, both churches oversaw their own bookings, teaching and activities, with the Youth For Christ team supporting where needed. This is the kind of partnership we want to encourage. We love seeing churches take what they have and make it their own. Each community is different, with its own people, gifts and ideas, so there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. This year our role was to come alongside, offering encouragement, resources and an extra pair of hands where helpful as we believe it’s important to support the local church to develop their own relationships with children, young people and families.

We’re excited to keep walking alongside them and seeing where their creativity leads!
