Directors Thoughts – June 23

What an absolute privilege it is to spend time with young people – to be, to listen, to encourage, to teach, to challenge and to be trusted enough to be part of their stories. Young people always have a choice whether they want to connect with us as youth workers – in school or within the community, so this choice is never to be taken lightly.

I love this youth work value as it reflects God’s heart with us as people. It’s always our choice whether to engage with Him. I’ve always found Him to be compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. As Burton Youth For Christ we try to model that within every connection that young people choose to give us.
