Over the past 13 weeks, we have had a fantastic time working with small groups of young people at Paget High School, exploring a range of positive character traits and considering how these can influence the choices we make and the way we treat others.
One of the topics the group particularly enjoyed was integrity – doing the right thing, even when nobody is watching. To introduce the theme, we played a simple game where the young people sat back-to-back, each choosing an object and deciding whether to describe it truthfully or bluff. It sparked plenty of laughter, but also some really thoughtful conversations about honesty, trust and how our choices can affect both ourselves and the people around us.
It has been great to reconnect with young people we have worked with previously while also welcoming and getting to know new young people. Each week, we have seen the group grow in confidence, become more comfortable sharing their thoughts and contribute more openly to discussions.
One young person reflected on the impact of the sessions by saying: “I now think twice before doing something bad.”
