On Saturday 8th February, Sue will be attempting to play her flute for 12 hours, from 9am – 9pm at the Community Church, Main Street, Stapenhill DE15 9AR.  She will be playing non stop throughout the day (taking a 5 minute break every hour), with each hour having a different theme.

Could you either sponsor Sue, or alternatively pop down for a cuppa and cake whilst being serenaded (leaving a generous donation on your way out!)

Here’s a rough guide for the day so you can choose a slot you will hopefully enjoy:-

9am – Swing
Wake up to some of the old classics: Mr Bojangles, Have you met Miss Jones, Ain’t that a kick in the head

10am – Classical Duets
Joined by my good friend Elizabeth Roe, we will be tackling some very fast and difficult Classical duets by various composers

11am – Disney Greats
Who doesn’t love a good Disney tune!  Come sing along to songs from the Lion King, Aladdin, Toy Story, Frozen.  Popcorn provided!

12 noon – Elton John & Adele
Two of my favourite modern composers 😊

1pm – Ludovico Einaudi (and other chilled Composers)
This modern Classical Pianist is just the most relaxing!  Bring a cushion and have an afternoon nap!

2pm – Musicals
Most people love a good classic musical! Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Cabaret, Cats, Evita

3pm – Bring your flute!
This hour could be chaos, but if you play the flute, bring it along and please join me!  We’ll do pop songs from the last 2 decades (around Grade 3- 4 standard).  Don’t worry how rusty you are – just turn up, I’ll provide the music, and we’ll have some fun!

4pm – More Musicals
One ‘Musicals’ slot is not enough!  This time there will be songs from The Wizard of Oz, The Greatest Showman, Grease, The Sound of Music

5pm – Well known Classical Pieces
Lots of people don’t think they know much classical music … I guarantee you will know most of these!

6pm – Film Greats
So many great films, it’s hard to know where to start!  Songs from James Bond, Mamma Mia, Titanic, Rocky, Bodyguard

7pm – My favourites
I thought I’d be slightly tired at this point, so this will be a self indulgent hour of playing my favourites!

8pm – Worship
The final hour I’ll be joined by my husband on guitar, and we’ll play some of the greats from church.

Sue will also do some live Facebook feeds and will happily play any song requests for the right donation.

Make sure you keep checking our facebook page throughout the day for live feeds.
