Role Description

We are looking for someone to join our team of trustees in helping us share Good News relevantly to the young people of Burton and the surrounding areas and achieve our goal of seeing young people’s lives changed by Jesus. Although there are some specifics within the job spec, there is scope to build and develop the role around you and your giftings as a person.

The treasurer usually takes the lead at the Board level on:

  • Making sure the charity keeps proper accounts
  • Reviewing the Charity’s financial performance
  • Drawing up or reviewing policies for finance and investment
  • Ensuring that the charity has robust and effective financial controls in place
  • Liaising with finance staff and with the charity’s independent examiner or auditor
  • Reporting on financial matters.

Occupational Requirements

  1. Please note that an Occupational Requirement under the Equality Act 2010 applies to this role such that an applicant should be an Evangelical Christian. This is because the role will involve the planning and prayerful delivery of Evangelical Christian Youth Work. That will necessitate an extensive understanding of the teachings of the Bible to be able to deliver that work and to lead or assist in the delivery of mission.

In your role, you will be representing a Burton Youth For Christ view, making a Christian response and reflecting Christian values and lifestyle choices. You will be expected to sign, agree and adhere to our Code of Conduct and Statement of Faith documents.
